In an industry that is constantly changing, Beyoncé has been a staple name for decades. She continues to share different levels of her creativity and grows with her fan base. Whether it was dropping an album without promo, creating a visual album, or producing a soundtrack for a classic movie, she has always kept us on our toes and refuses to limit herself to charting singles.

Recently it was announced that Beyoncé has a Disney deal in the works. After voicing Nala in the live action Lion King and producing the soundtrack, the company reportedly offered her a $100 million deal. According to Elle, the contract would bring the singer on for three major projects including Black Panther 2. As the negotiations for the contract continue, a source reported the brand is interested in using Beyoncé’s voice for additional projects.

“Beyoncé has become a major player for Disney and is the perfect fit for their brand,” the source said. The source continued by stating “as part of the deal, they are also trying to get her team to agree to have Beyoncé voicing some of the new documentaries coming to Disney Plus. After the success of having Meghan Markle voicing the film Elephant on the platform, they have projects coming up which align perfectly with Beyoncé’s brand. The negotiations are still ongoing but it’s the final details that are being thrashed out now.”

Her latest involvement with the brand was her appearance in ABC’s Disney Family Singalong special dedicated to people working on the front lines to fight against coronavirus. Before singing When You Wish Upon A Star, she shared a few words about the company.

“I’m proud and honored to be part of the Disney family and to help present the Disney song sing along in partnership with Feeding America. I’d like to dedicate this song to all of the healthcare workers who have been working tirelessly to keep us healthy and safe. We greatly appreciate you,” Beyoncé said before singing the song from Pinocchio.

Although fans raved about her voicing Nala in the Lion King, the work she put into The Gift was truly remarkable. Not only did she strive to capture the authenticity of African music, but she also promoted a powerful message as well. In the ABC documentary Making The Gift, Beyoncé explains some of the feelings that came about while producing the album.

“When I see fathers singing brown skin girl to their daughters, to know that my daughter can have the same opportunities, and feel confident and feel like she doesn’t have to take her braids down, and she can comb her afro out and she can glisten in her brown skin, that is why I make music,” she said while smiling from ear to ear.

After seeing her attention to detail for the Lion King, we can’t help but anticipate the final products of the additional projects. Though it is not set in stone, we are excited to see what comes out of this extended partnership between Beyoncé and Disney. If this means we are getting anything close to The Gift, show me where I can pre-order it now. Whatever the deal includes, you can bet your last dollar that it will be handled with care and dignity.
