ABTV Quarantine With The Stars: Ariel Rose

With literally hours left until the release of her new song “Somebody Loves You”, Miami-born singer and songwriter Ariel Rose stopped by AfterBuzz TV to talk all about this new track, what it means to her, and how she’s using her platform to give back.

Ariel has grown up around the music industry with several generations of musical talent in her family and this musical family has inspired much of her music and who she is today. After dropping her first CD at the tender age of 15, Ariel went on to study Opera at the University of Miami and even got to work with Latin Grammy-nominated artist Juan Vicente Zambrano and tour with Cirque Dreams.

These days, Ariel has been hard at work writing and creating during quarantine, and even picked up a new hobby in yoga which she shares is actually much tougher than she thought. Besides all those fun activities, Ariel is also trying to stay away from the fridge as she finds herself eating way more than normal and she fears the dreaded Quarantine-15.

Ariel’s new song “Somebody Loves You” is a story of that one thing that can just make you feel better and bring positivity into your life, and the song is perfectly fitting for these trying times.

“We’ve been in quarantine, we’ve been isolated and it hasn’t been an easy time for people mentally. I think it’s important for people to remember that people do care.”

In addition to the release of her new song, Ariel will also be dropping an intimate music video that includes clips from her childhood and her musical father playing the piano. Ariel even noted that she hadn’t seen the clips before and was delightfully surprised to go down memory lane with her fans.

“My parents were like ‘oh yeah, we have some old footage of you’. It was cool, when you see yourself growing up and how far you’ve come, you don’t really realize. It was really cool and it’s really personal for me. It’s very meaningful and I’m really excited for the world to see it.”

“Somebody Loves You” is a song all about reminding us that we are loved, seen and cared for and Ariel even discussed what she would like fans to take away from this new single.

“I want them to know that no matter who they are, where they are, whatever they’re going through that somebody loves you and you’re not alone, and we will get through this together.”

If dropping a new single and music video wasn’t enough for the rising star, Ariel also mentioned that she’s partnering with the United Way of Miami-Dade for a live Instagram concert that will benefit the Miami pandemic response fund.

“I’ve always been passionate about charity and giving back. May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and a lot of people are going through a lot so I just figured I wanted to make a difference and give back even from home.”

Home for Ariel is sunny Miami, Florida, which is riddled with successful artists and producers of the Latin genre. Ariel touched on how many of her musical inspirations were from the Latin genre and her first concert was even a Ricky Martin concert! All this inspiration has even led Ariel to want to study Spanish and incorporate the language into her music.
