Andy Cohen is speaking out in regards to the recent Vanderpump Rules firings. OG’s Stassi Schroder, Kristen Doute, and newbies Max Boynes and Brett Caprioni have been FIRED from #pumprules due to racist actions in the past. Many of you have heard by now what has resurfaced from the bravolebrities past, but if you have not, I am going to inform you on what has transpired and how it led to the firings of FOUR Pump Rules castmates.

Max Boynes and Brett Caprioni, the two newest male cast members of the reality series racially inappropriate tweets resurfaced at the start of season 8 of Vanderpump Rules –  just a couple episodes into the season airing late last year. The two have been facing backlash all season long by castmates and fans for their mistakes and have both publicly apologized multiple times. However, it was too little too late. With the Black Lives Movement being very present in the world right now, Bravo has made it clear that they stand with BLM and do not want people on their network who have supported anything different in the past.

Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute, two of Vanderpump Rules’ original cast members have also been under fire for their past racially insensitive actions. Specifically fan favorite Stassi. The two of the three “witches of weho” have been called out by former cast-mate Faith Stowers who spoke out earlier this week on IG-live about how Stassi and Kristen called the cops on her a couple years back. They called the cops on Faith, when they saw a “black girl” on the news stealing credit cards and drugging men, and Stassi and Kristen called the police claiming it was Faith, even though it was not. Stowers, also shared with the public the mis-treatment she received from the cast due to being the only person of color on the series. Stassi and Kristen had it out for Faith because of Faith’s affair with co-star Jax Taylor. However, Faith made it clear that Jax has cheated many times, so that shouldn’t excuse the girls behavior and the discrimination towards her.

Stassi and Kristen both have put out public apologies on their IG’s but reportedly have not apologized to Faith directly. There has also been a clip resurfacing from Stassi’s podcast Straight up with Stassi back in 2018 where she makes many racially insensitive comments. One of the things she said that offended people on her podcast was “Why is it always just about the African Americans… whenever they get upset, everyone has to go above and beyond to make them happy”. As of this week Stassi’s PR company has dropped her, she has lost many if not all of her sponsorships, and has lost her podcast in addition to being fired from Vanderpump Rules.

Andy Cohen has responded to the firings and said on his radio show on SiriusXM “I absolutely support Bravo’s decision, I think it was the right decision”. As far as what the future of the show for season nine will look like, who knows. I don’t think that is anyone’s concern right now. The concern is to stand up for what’s right and what is important which is equality. These reality stars who have been in the public eye are held under a microscope due to their large platforms. Bravo TV and Evolution Media have chosen to make an example of them, and this will be a learning lesson for the cast and for many fans of the show who have watched and supported them for the past eight years.
