ABTV Quarantine With The Stars: Kate Godfrey

Kate Godfrey is a hilariously talented young actress, comedian, and singer who’s just beginning to make her mark in Hollywood. Currently starring in Nickelodeon’s All That, Kate brings her acting and singing chops to make us laugh and feel all the feels every week.

Hailing from Scottsdale, Arizona, the teen star quickly fell in love with acting after realizing it’s too hot outside to play softball in her home state. When her mom signed her up for a community theater production of Beauty And The Beast where she played a dancing fork, she knew that her true calling was acting and performing.

When Kate is not on set or on the softball field (like now, thanks to Miss Rona), she’s focusing on her schoolwork as the sixteen-year-old is just finishing up her sophomore year of high school. Kate shared that the world of virtual schoolwork is not much of an adjustment for her as she has been taking classes online even before Miss Rona, since she is quite the booked and busy actress.

Something that has been an adjustment for Kate has been her new ventures into the world of driving! Kate mentioned that she’s not the best driver, but empty parking lots have been a great place to practice during these times.

Since quarantine has stopped her and the rest of Hollywood from filming, Kate shared that she will no longer take anything for granted because she has realized how much she misses shooting All That. Kate loves All That because it’s different from any other kids show on television right now, and she also loves how much fun she has at work!

“I get hit with so much food at work. We do all this crazy stuff that you wouldn’t be able to do if it wasn’t sketch comedy.”

One sketch that Kate particularly loves is her recent music video parody of Justin Bieber’s “Yummy”. Kate shared that she is a huge fan of Justin Bieber and had so much fun dancing on tables and just being silly for this fun sketch.

Since Kate played a boy in this sketch, she also shared what went into the two-hour process of becoming JB. “That was crazy. I had like two full sleeves of tattoos cos Justin Bieber does”, she said.

Kate also discussed what she loves about playing a boy on All That.

“I love playing a boy because there’s just so many things that I can do that I couldn’t do with any of my other girl characters”.

Besides being a huge JB fan, Kate is also quite the fan of Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Elle and Dakota Fanning, Kate McKinnon, and the cast of SNL as well!

Due to Kate’s amazing acting and singing chops, we know she’ll be right there with that amazing list of names one day.

With more time on her hands, Kate has also taken to focusing on her singing and musical talents with guitar lessons. Kate also noted that we could possibly get some original music from her in the near future!

“I’ve always really loved singing and music and it really makes me happy to do music, so I definitely will pursue that sometime in my life, but I’m not sure when.”
