Agust D is back with his new mixtape D-2! Big Hit Entertainment’s mysterious Twitter countdown concluded with the release of Suga’s new album and music video for his song “Daechwita.” ARMY’s have been asking Suga about the release of his next mixtape, but Suga made it seem like the album was far off and we wouldn’t be hearing it anytime. Taking part in the release promotion himself, Suga also chose for the mixtape to drop on day two, instead of D-DAY. This was due in part to coincide with the album name, but also to completely throw off ARMY’s who were waiting for something to drop on the final day. Needless to say, the release of D-2 was one surprise after another! You’re a sneaky one Suga, but ARMY will forgive him “because he’s cute.”

Since it’s release, D-2, whose process Suga was completely involved in, has ranked #1 on the iTunes Top Album chart in 80 countries and counting! The album also achieved a global all kill with Agust D ranking as the #1 Global Digital Act, D-2 holds #1 on the Worldwide iTunes and Apple Music Album Chart, “Daechwita” occupied the top spot on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart, and not only did the music video rank #1 on YouTube, but it also surpassed 20 million views in less than 24 hours. Suga also became the first Korean solo act to debut an entire album in the top 200 on Global Spotify. If these records weren’t impressive enough, let’s remember D-2 was an unpromoted surprise album drop with no radio plays or proper playlisting.

The long awaited mixtape has not only received high praise from fans, but also from fellow music artists and friends. Halsey, who has collaborated with both BTS and Suga individually, took to Instagram to show her support saying, “In awe of you, my friend.”

Max Schneider, professionally known as MAX, announced on Twitter his collaboration with Suga on the track “Burn It.” ARMY was also quick to notice WWE superstar John Cena posted Suga’s D-2 teaser image on Instagram, showing his support.

On top of D-2 smashing records, Suga’s first mixtape Agust D, hit it’s own milestone surpassing 100 million streams. Min Dynasty, it’s time to celebrate the king, Min Yoongi!
