Loki – June 9th Disney+

With the success of Wandavision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the newest Marvel series has big shoes to fill. Loki, follows the Battle of New York after Loki takes the Tesseract in Endgame. He will be working with the Time Variance Agency as he travels throughout time past, present and future.

The success and hype that surrounded the previous Marvel shows as well as its tie to the MCU has set Loki up to be a successful summer hit.

The first episode premiered on Disney+ on June 9th and was been met with lots of fan support.

Loki will have new episodes available to stream on Disney+ every Wednesday.

iCarly – June 17th Paramount+

The early 2000s Nickelodeon show is getting a reboot this summer. iCarly will feature much of the main cast and some more familiar faces.

From the trailer, the show has a more grown-up approach, to match their aging fanbase who are beyond excited for the premiere. They’re grateful the show aged with them and isn’t trying to appeal to younger fans.

The excitement surrounding the reboot seems to grow every time an update is posted so we’re sure this will be a highlight of summer TV.

The iCarly reboot premiers on June 17th on Paramount+.

Blindspotting – June 13th Starz

A continuation on the 2018 movie by the same name, Blindspotting is the latest project from Daveed Diggs, who you may know from the Broadway musical Hamilton.

The TV series is set to star Jasmine Cephas Jones, also from Hamilton, as she reprises her role from the film and moves in with her mother’s boyfriend after his arrest.

The hype for the show is growing online with fans and critics alike preparing and praising the first looks of the show.

With the star power and movie fan base already attached, as well as the growing love for it online, Blindspotting is should be making its way onto your summer watchlist.

Blindspotting premiers on Starz on June 13th.

Naomi Osaka – July 13th Netflix

Naomi Osaka has been in the news after dropping out of the French Open for her mental health. Osaka’s leave came after she refused to speak to the press and was subsequently fined.

She has received an outpouring of support from companies and celebrities standing with her as she centers herself and her mental health.

Now, Osaka is coming out with a three-part docu-series that focuses on her mental health, cultural background, activism, and of course, tennis.

We’re glad that Osaka feels comfortable enough to open up about her struggles. The importance of the series and the recent the support around her suggest that it will be a summer hit and worth the watch.

Naomi Osaka premiers on Netflix on July 13th.

Gossip Girl – July 10th HBO Max

The insanely popular series, Gossip Girl, is getting another life on HBO Max. This time the show won’t be following the lives of Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf but instead new privileged teens going through high school.

The new cast will hopefully help to allow the show to stand on its own apart from the original. The show is also set around social media and how much the landscape of New York — and high school — has changed. But don’t worry some things will be the same, Kristen Bell is set to reprise her role as the voice behind the elusive “Gossip Girl.”

Judging by the fanbase of the original and the growing fanbase for the reboot, this series is something you won’t want to miss.

Fans can catch the premier on July 10th on HBO Max.

Monsters at Work – July 2 Disney+

If Disney has shown us anything in the past year, it’s that they know how to make a show. Monsters Inc. came out almost 20 years ago and the movie has become a Disney classic.

The new series, featuring the original voice actors: Billy Crystal and John Goodman, is set to take place after the first movie as the monster world switches from scream energy to laughter.

Fans of the franchise will once again join the scare floor and may even get answers about whatever happened to Boo that we’ve been wondering about for decades.

Monsters at Work premiers on July 2nd on Disney+.

Wellington Paranormal – July 11th The CW & HBO Max

Taika Waititi fans can rejoice as Wellington Paranormal will make its United States debut this summer.

The show originally premiered in New Zealand in 2018 and is a spin off of the beloved show/movie What We Do in the Shadows also by Waititi.

While the show isn’t new, it will be the first time it premiers in the U.S. It centers around the police officers investigating paranormal experiences popping up all around New Zealand’s capital.

If you’re a fan of What We Do in the Shadows or Waititi you’ll want to check out the premiere.

Wellington Paranormal will be available on July 11th via The CW and HBO Max.
