Fans have been eagerly awaiting for any type of news when it comes to the Walking Dead’s return to television, and on Friday afternoon many got their wish.

Some of the cast including Angela Kang, Gregg Nicotero, and Scott M. Gimple came together for the Virtual Comic Con At Home.

We received so much info that we decided to give you the top 5 exciting things we learned from the panel.

5. New love interest for Aaron?

Ross Marquand who plays Aaron on the series revealed he would like to see his character have a new love interest for season 11.

“Aaron came very close with Jesus… We kind of hinted at some relationship in between the 6 year jump. I would love to see that, but at this point there are so many threats from all angles; Love for Aaron, or anybody else is not of ultimate importance right now, but I would like to see that.” Said  Marquand.

4. Will Daryl and Carol’s relationship survive?

When we last left off with both these characters, Carol and Daryl were not in the best place when it comes to their friendship.

Let’s not forget she was the one to free Negan so he could kill Alpha, unfortunately her actions led to some of our favorite heroes’ demise.

Show runner Angela Kang hinted both Carol and Daryl have a long way to go when it comes to repairing their relationship.

“I think with any long deep relationship with anybody it gets complicated because they can be real with each other in ways that not everybody can, but that means that the hurt runs deeper. All I want to say without spoiling anything, is you kind of start from that point, and they got a long road to travel, we’re writing some stuff now and we’ll see where it all lands.”

3. A Bumpy Road For Negan And Maggie

Not only are fans excited for The Walking Dead to return, but they’re also excited to see Maggie make an epic return to the show and come face to face with Negan. According to Angela Kang don’t expect these two to pull daisies together anytime soon.

“Negan killed Maggie’s husband and burnt down her house. It’s not going to be an easy road I think for either of them. Kang stated. “Negan has been on this whole other journey while she’s been gone, but it’s sort of like Maggie’s coming in, and she hasn’t seen any of that. What she knows is she comes back and Hilltop is destroyed, and the guy that she thought was left to rot in prison is out walking around with everybody else. These two have to figure out how to occupy the same space.”

2.Glenn Coming Back From The Dead?

Chief Content Officer of the Walking Dead Universe Scott M. Gimple was asked which character he would pick to create  a spin off series of their life pre-apocalypse, and it was none other than Glenn.

“If we’re talking pre-apocalypse I’d go right to Glenn, because A, I miss working with Steven, B it would be funny”.

Gimple wasn’t done though, he then gave fans some exciting news about other characters we haven’t seen in a while making a possible return.

“I will say we’re working on things where we are looking at past characters, maybe not a whole series, but we’re looking at things where we can take a peek, maybe not pre-apocalypse, but early in the apocalypse, so get excited about that.”

1. More Episodes to Air After the season 10 finale

Angela Kang did reveal some sad news that season 11 will not be airing this year in October, but with bad news comes good news.

It was revealed that season 10 will be extended and the season 10 finale that was meant to air back in April will now air on October 4th of this year.

“There will be 6 extra episodes to follow the finale, those will run in early 2021 if all goes well. We’re working on those now and we’ll have more to share soon.”
