ABTV Quibi Watch Weekly

This week’s article goes out to all of my sports fans out there. You don’t need the reminder but (I’m going to remind you anyway) if things were ‘normal’, we’d be deep in NHL and NBA playoffs. While I can’t get us our sports back, I can offer some alternatives that may help scratch that competitive itch we’re all needing to address. Here are a few shows on Quibi that serve up a little competition:

Iron Sharpens Iron

This show, which is executively produced by Cam Newton, shows some of your favorite athletes give one another insight into what it takes to be excellent at their respective sports. Stars from different sports like former Boxing Champion Deontay Wilder showing his boxing workouts to Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon or Cam Newton and Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young sharing how they lead their teams. It’s a cool way to see some of your favorite stars in a light we don’t often see them in.

Fight Like A Girl

For all the WWE fans or just fans of seeing people transform their lives, this show is for you. Some of WWE’s superstars pair with ten women with the goal of helping these women write a new script for their story. It’s a show that feels good and after each episode, it leaves you feeling inspired. Certainly worth a watch.

Elba vs Block

Fast cars, things blowing up & Idris Elba, what more can one ask for? One may ask what does Idris Elba know about cars? Well, apparently Idris has been a car enthusiast most of his life. Before acting he worked for Ford for two years, his father worked there for 25 years and Elba broke the race car speed record from rally driving. Now does that mean he is a better driver then professional rally driver Ken Block? Not quite. But the show finds creative ways to even the playing field and make it an entertaining watch.

As always each episode comes in at under 10 minutes on Quibi and hopefully after checking out all these shows, we’ll somehow have our sports back.
