Want to learn how to break into the directing scene? It definitely isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. On Friday April 21st, director Joshua Butler made an appearance on the new show “Millennial Hollywood with Dakota T. Jones” for Afterbuzz TV’s Popcorn Talk Network.
During the interview, Joshua opens up about his success while discussing his involvement in shows such as The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, The Magicians, & Shadowhunters. When Dakota asked Joshua the biggest piece of advice he had for actors, his response was, “Learn your lines, show up on time & be nice to everyone from the executives to the craft service workers who make your lunch.” Simple, right?
When asked what his biggest piece of advice was for millennials wanting to take the first steps to becoming a director, he encouraged them by saying, “If there’s any way you can put together resources & make a full length feature film, I feel like that’s the best introduction to the industry. I think with all the equipment that is available, there is always ways to create & make a film. Do it with people you trust.” To watch the full interview, the link is provided below.
