“Weeks 4 & 5” Season 33 Episode 4 & 5 ‘The Real World’ Review

Join Jesse Janedy and Nicolette Gaona as they break down season 33 episodes 4 and 5 of The Real World!

ABOUT THE REAL WORLD:
The Real World (also known as simply Real World) is a reality television program on MTV originally produced by Mary-Ellis Bunim and Jonathan Murray. First broadcast in 1992, the show, which was inspired by the 1973 PBS documentary series An American Family, is the longest-running program in MTV history and one of the longest-running reality series in history, credited with launching the modern reality TV genre.

The series was hailed in its early years for depicting issues of contemporary young-adulthood relevant to its core audience, such assex, prejudice, religion, abortion, illness, sexuality, AIDS, death, politics, and substance abuse, but later garnered a reputation as a showcase for immature and irresponsible behavior.

Following Bunim’s death from breast cancer in 2004, Bunim/Murray Productions continues to produce the program. The 30th season, set in Chicago, premiered on December 16, 2014.

The series has generated two notable spin-offs, both broadcast by MTV: Road Rules, which lasted for 14 seasons (1995–2007), and the ongoing reality game show The Challenge (originally known as Road Rules: All Stars before being renamed Real World/Road Rules Challenge after both its precursors), which has run for over 20 seasons since 1998. The Challenge is mostly cast-contestant dependent on both The Real World and Road Rules, as it combines contestants from various seasons of both shows.

Meeting and marrying in less than three months might sound unreal, but we’re here to tell you the truth on the 90 DAY FIANCE AFTER SHOW. We’ll follow along with all the couples as they embark on the speed dating session of a lifetime.

Long-distance relationships have challenges that are sometimes difficult to overcome but consider if the distance traveled was halfway around the world and a couple had just 90 days to decide whether the courtship should conclude with marriage. That’s the situation facing the men and women profiled in this series, which shares the complexities of international romances. Using a visa that allows foreign fiancees of American citizens to travel to the U.S., the men and women experience life in the States with their prospective mates for the first time. Culture and language barriers must be overcome — not to mention the stigma of being thought of as mail-order spouses — but here’s the elephant in the room: The couples must marry before the visas expire in 90 days, or else the visitors have to immediately return to their countries. With the clock ticking, these couples discover if their “happily ever after” is meant to be.

Subscribe and comment for guest interviews, exclusive news and gossip, and more!!

Ambitious Lucia — the daughter of a Mexican crime lord who sells marijuana throughout the city — sees the burgeoning cocaine business as a potential moneymaker, so she manipulates her family into entering the more dangerous and profitable territory than pot. Getting involved with the new drug is setting her on a violent collision course with the likes of Franklin, a young street entrepreneur on a quest for power, and former Mexican wrestler Gustavo, who is caught up in a power struggle within a crime family. Also getting involved in the cocaine trade is CIA operative Teddy, who is running from a dark past and begins an off-book operation to fund Nicaraguan Contras. Oscar-nominated director John Singleton (“Boyz N the Hood”) co-created the drama series and says he drew inspiration from his own life for Franklin’s story.
