Tim Lounibos Interview

Join Timothy Michael as he sits with Tim Lounibos!

Tim Lounibos returns with perfect timing as Hollywood begins to embrace diversity.

Much was expected of Lounibos when he first entered the biz in the 90’s. He was branded as part of an “exciting new breed of Asian American actors with widespread mainstream appeal” and went to work immediately on such shows as Star Trek: The Next Generation, Suddenly Susan, and The Nanny, as well as recurring guest stars on Beverly Hills, 90210, The Practice, JAG and The West Wing. He also starred in the feature film Erotique, which was one of the first US films shot in Hong Kong.

Eventually, Lounibos entered what one network executive termed the “tweener stage” — too old to play the young buck, too young to play the dad — so Tim made the difficult decision to leave Hollywood to provide for his growing family.

As fate would have it, Tim’s acting would be greatly enhanced as he learned real-life experience running a business and supervising hundreds of employees, all the while striving to be a good husband and father and gaining a newfound sense of groundedness and gravitas.

Then, as onscreen diversity began reflecting the face of society, Tim realized his mixed-race combination of German/Irish/Asian along with his seemingly unlimited acting range made the timing right to leap back in.

So far it has proved to be quite successful as Lounibos has quickly stacked up a new set of credits, booking such shows as A.P. Bio, Criminal Minds, Doubt, The Real O’Neals, and The Young and the Restless. In 2019, Tim is set to guest star on Hawaii Five-0 and NCIS and recur throughout the fifth season of Amazon Studios’ Bosch.

Indeed, timing is everything.

There’s not much that’s funny about our immigration system at all, so please know I’m not making light of it here. I leave the sarcastic comedic criticism to the experts like Eric Lampaert – who – true story – is a citizen of three different nations due to the fact that he is an ‘alien of extraordinary ability,’ at least in the U.S. This sparked his Edinburgh Fringe Festival show of the same name, and is now being released as an album on Blonde Medicine, coming out November 9th.

Kirk Taylor Interview

Imagine beginning your professional acting career convincing Francis Ford Coppola that you have a good idea for a scene; then moving on to work with film artists as varied as Stanley Kubrick, Spike Lee, and Charles Bronson.  For actor Kirk Taylor, success as a young actor three decades ago gave him the confidence he needed to expand his career into becoming a respected acting teacher and accomplished musician.

Now, Kirk Taylor is finding his “second act” as a film performer, appearing in the new musical film “Revival!,” a new rendering of the Gospel According to John.  Produced by and starring Harry Lennix (“The Blacklist”), Taylor stars as Cephas (known as Simon Peter), the apostle who denies knowing Jesus, appearing with an all-star cast that includes Chaka Khan, Michelle Williams, and T’Keyah Crystal Keyman.  “Revival!” opens in select cities this December, and is co-directed by Danny Green (“Troubled Waters”) and Obba Babatunde (“Miss Evers’ Boys”), and features a gospel-inspired score by Grammy nominee Mali Music.

A student of both Lee Strasberg and Stella Adler, Kirk Taylor’s life as a performer has found him working regularly in memorable supporting roles in films such as “Death Wish 3,” “School Daze,” “Full Metal Jacket,” and later in acclaimed indie dramas like “MacArthur Park” and “The Angriest Man in Brooklyn.”  He’s seen his share of parts left on the cutting room floor, and his name left out of the credits, but that hasn’t stopped Taylor from finding success and praise from all corners, from strangers who recognize him from a key role in a favorite film, to a chance encounter with Sidney Poitier that left a lasting impression.

Guided by his deep faith and a lifelong respect for the craft of performing, Taylor’s resurgence on the big screen follows years of work as an acting coach and stage performer, with Broadway, regional, and off-Broadway credits in both contemporary and classical works.  An avid musician and composer, Taylor’s creativity knows few bounds, and the stories he tells about a lifetime of professional work reflect unique insight into the trials and tribulations of a show business career.

Patrick Gilmore Interview

Born in Edmonton, Canada, to Collette and Tom Gilmore(a former professional hockey player), Gilmore seemed destined for the spotlight from an early age. Paxton Booth Interview

Meet Paxton Booth: an 8-year-old BMX rider, Tim Burton film lover, and series regular on Disney Channel’s new TV show Coop & Cami Ask The World. Paxton stars alongside castmates Ruby Rose Turner, Dakota Lotus, Albert Tsai, Olivia Sanabia and Rebecca Metz. The show follows a brother-sister duo who make almost all of their decisions — both mundane and madcap — by crowdsourcing opinions from the millions of followers on their online channel ‘Would You Wrather.’ Paxton plays ‘Ollie Wrather,’ the fearless and enthusiastic younger brother of the duo. The show, which premiered this October, is currently in it’s first season.

Watch this “Coop & Cami” trailer to see Paxton take a sink bath in leftovers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQ9hTBGC3XQ

Although only 8 years old, Paxton is no newcomer to gracing TV screens. As a talkative toddler with a love for being in front of the camera, he began his professional acting career at just 2 ½ years old near his hometown of Ventura, CA. He has since made appearances in dozens of national commercials and landed several guest star roles on popular TV shows including NBC’s Emmy-award winning sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine, ABC’s The Real O’Neals, Amazon’s The Romanoffs, TV Land’s Teachers, and ABC’s unscripted series The Toy Box as a judge.

Paxton Booth talks about “Coop & Cami” with Celebmix:

While on set, Paxton never shies away from an exciting stunt thrown his way. Although he doesn’t have any formal stunt training, he has carried out several stunts on the set of Coop & Cami with the supervision of a stunt coordinator. Paxton’s fearless nature translates both on and off set, as he has been riding BMX bikes since the age of 3 – around the same time he took off the training wheels on his bike. Racing his BMX bike through skateparks and pump tracks has helped Paxton as an actor by increasing his body awareness. While, his love of automobiles also runs the course of a smaller, plastic track – with his collection of over 1000 Hot Wheels. Having spent countless hours at car shows and museums, he has developed an immersive knowledge of classic cars, noting details on every single one of his Hot Wheels toys.

Beyond car museums, Paxton has an admiration for the arts and loves visiting both classic and street art museums. He also has a fascination with less artistically praised, poorly assembled ‘50s black and white horror films.Captivated by the horror genre, Paxton deeply admires the directorial style of Tim Burton and dreams of being cast in one of his films. Paxton also loves listening to ‘80s rock music, often jamming out to David Bowie. As a fashionable youngster, he admires Bowie’s standout style and strives to match his confidence of wearing whatever he wants. Eventually, he would love to have his own clothing line of eccentric styles.

Outside of Paxton’s passions for art and activities, he loves getting hands-on with philanthropic pursuits. He actively supports charitable causes surrounding animal rescue (such as the two rescue pit bulls he grew up with), bringing happiness to other children that are ill/underprivileged, and spreading the importance of environmental awareness. He hopes to use his growing platform and voice to speak up for these philanthropic causes, the arts and promoting individuality at any age.

Christina Elizabeth Interview

AFTERBUZZ TV – AfterBuzz TV’s Mini Spotlight edition, is a short form interview series featuring actors & artists discussing their roles and shows as well as their thoughts, passions and journeys. In this episode host Steph Sabraw interviews Christina Elizabeth.

She was also featured in writer/director Mickey Keating’s indie horror thriller Psychopaths. She wrote, produced and starred in the dramatic short Pretext, all of which takes place during a tense conversation between a rape victim and her rapist. And she was the comical referee on the football betting series Cousin Sal’s Sure Thing.

A Nashville, Tennessee native, and a graduate of Northwest High School, Smith got her first taste of show business as a competitive dancer. During that period, as part of a tap dancing trio, she won the U.S. National Championship. However, acting was a stronger draw for her, and she soon began to appear in stage plays, music videos and commercials in her native Tennessee. She also made her feature film debut as the star of Happy and Dead, which was produced locally.

When opportunities dried up in Nashville (she had appeared in so many music videos, she was oversaturated in the market), she decided to pursue her acting ambition in Southern California.

One of her favorite early experiences was working opposite actress Geena Davis in an episode of Grey’s Anatomy, in which she portrayed a traumatized mother seeking treatment for her suffocating baby.

She also came to the attention of filmmaker Darrell Holmes who cast her as a popular girl in his romantic comedy Promenade. She then booked a victim role in the Morbid Minutes web series, which was directed by Ted Raimi, and she‘s the dippy bimbo sister opposite Bree Essrig in the Killer Sisters Midnight Hour horror movie review show for director Michael Williamson.

Smith’s other television credits include: YoungDays of Our LivesThe Young and the RestlessJimmy Kimmel Live! and Wacko Smacko. Her additional feature credits include: The RockerEverMountain, and she starred opposite Alan Ruck and Kathleen Wilhoit in director Mike Williamson’s horror short Deathly.

Comfortable with comedy roles, Smith is a veteran of The Groundlings, 10 West, and Upright Citizen’s Brigade. When she isn’t acting, she continues to dance; she’s passionate about animal rights, and fascinated with mythic storytelling from around the world.

Shawn-Caulin Young Interview

AFTERBUZZ TV – AfterBuzz TV’s Mini Spotlight edition, is a short form interview series featuring actors & artists discussing their roles and shows as well as their thoughts, passions and journeys. In this episode host Steph Sabraw interviews Shawn-Caulin Young.

Shawn-Caulin Young is a director, producer and actor who stars in the film Heart, Baby as ‘Crystal’, a devout transgender Christian who quotes scripture in support of LGTBQ+ rights. The film follows the true story of George (Gbenga Akinnagbe), an unbeatable prison boxer who turned down an offer from the 1984 US Olympic team in exchange for his freedom, his best friend and transphobic inmate, Doc (Jackson Rathbone), and his transgender female cellmate & love interest, Crystal (Young). To prepare for the role, Shawn lived as a trans-woman on and off set, and throughout the course of filming, experienced harassment both as a female and trans-woman. “I knew if I as a cisgender gay man was going to try and tell a trans story, I needed to know in my soul what life was truly like for a woman like Crystal. It was hard, but I wanted to experience the day-to-day and all the feelings that came with living as a trans woman, so I could try to honor Crystal, as well as my trans sister & brothers. I did it so I could be a true advocate and ally, not just another cisgender person who sympathizes.” Shawn also co-produced the film and has won awards for his performance. Heart, Baby will open in New York on November 16th at the Village East Theatre and in Los Angeles at the Ahrya Fine Arts Laemmle Theatre on November 23rd, with additional markets to follow. Shawn will next be seen in season 3 of “True Detective”, returning Sunday, January 13th, 2019 at 9pm. He is known for his guest roles on Netflix’s “Santa Clarita Diet”, Disney’s “Wizards of Waverly Place”, and Netflix’s “Godless”. Shawn is originally from New Mexico and has lived in England and New York. He likes to spend his spare time coaching and mentoring children and young adults around the world in the art of acting. Singer-songwriter Mason Ashley, just released her brand new single “Show and Tell” along with the music video, and I would love to see if AfterBuzz TV would be interested in setting up an on-camera interview with her.

Show and Tell is a song that everyone can relate to at some point of their lives. Mason says the song is inspire by “the emotion of trying to pick up the pieces of yourself after someone else tore you apart. It is about trying to convince yourself, and everyone else, that you’re “fine”. Show and Tell is based on that moment in between getting your heart broken and getting yourself back together again.”

Writing well beyond her years, Mason Ashley masterfully crafts lyrics that tell timeless stories, melodies that capture raw emotion, and sings with an enchanting voice that lulls the listener to another time and place. Instead of trying to categorize her unique sound into specific genres, Mason describes her sound as “what she feels like writing, what she is feeling in the moment, and what she feels is honest.” Her music is her own journal of her life, just with melodies. The result; songs that anyone of any age who has ever felt love, loss, frustration, joy, romance can relate to.

Elliot Feld and Alexandra Feld Interview

AFTERBUZZ TV – AfterBuzz TV’s Mini Spotlight edition, is a short form interview series featuring actors & artists discussing their roles and shows as well as their thoughts, passions and journeys. In this episode host Amy Cassandra interviews Elliot Feld.

KILLER KATE: Estranged sisters – Kate and Angie – haven’t spoken since Angie went to college and left Kate to care for their ailing father. In a show of reconciliation, several years after moving out, Angie invites Kate to her bachelorette party held at a remote house booked on a home-sharing app. The women are unaware that by booking this house, they’re walking into a trap set in motion by a disturbed family of amateur killers who are out for blood to right a cosmic wrong. They soon become unwitting participants in a savage and often ridiculous life-or-death struggle that pits family against family, and past against present.

Something about the horror genre hooked me at a very young age, and it probably started at a Blockbuster video store. I grew up on my living room floor watching VHS tapes of The Fog, The Exorcist, and The Evil Dead. I love conflict, and horror films are chock full, whether it’s man against man (Scream), man against self (The Fly), or man against the supernatural (The Prince of Darkness). In Killer Kate! we pit family against family. This film was inspired by many of the low budget flicks of the 1970’s & 1980’s. I draw influence from countless directors, but folks like John Carpenter, Sam Raimi, and James Cameron really drive my work. My wife plays the lead, her family tackled art department, and my family handled production, while our closest friends filled out the rest of the team. It was a true family affair. I love them all, and I am extremely proud of everyone on our crew. Killer Kate! is a fun, funny, and violent ride.

AFTERBUZZ TV – AfterBuzz TV’s Mini Spotlight edition, is a short form interview series featuring actors & artists discussing their roles and shows as well as their thoughts, passions and journeys. In this episode host Nick Mardi interviews Daniel DiMaggio.

Cementing his role on screens nationwide with his breakout performance on ABC’s “American Housewife”Daniel DiMaggio is a teen star holding his own by delivering sidesplitting comedy, scene after scene, in the show TV GUIDE says, “continues ABC’s trend of quality family sitcoms.” DiMaggio stars as the witty, self-assured, smart beyond his years and honestly speaking, a bit of a disciplined capitalist, ‘Oliver Otto’, in a suburban family that’s ended up in a pompous Connecticut neighborhood. With every move they make, the family prove that they don’t belong and have no intentions of fitting into the cookie-cutter perfect family scenario, and instead forge their own path. Also staring Katy Mixon, Diedrich Bader, Ali Wong & Meg Donnelly, “American Housewife” returns to ABC onWednesday, September 26th at 8:30pm sandwiched between two of ABC’s other famed sitcoms, “The Goldbergs” and “Modern Family.”
At an early age, DiMaggio discovered a natural allure to acting and started his career in a Honda commercial at 8 years old. He would later go on to act in more commercials, guest star roles including playing a young Superman in CW’s “Supergirl”, and a young Michael Westen in USA’s “Burn Notice”. A career in acting came of no surprise to his parents, both Hollywood veterans themselves, who first exposed Daniel to the craft while he was still in diapers accompanying them to sets. When the opportunity of a lifetime came to star as a series regular in ABC’s new half hour comedy, the move felt organic, a perfect fit for a young actor to show his acting prowess through a series of comedic highs and dramatic turns. Though his career is off to skyrocketing success, Danielremains humble and hopes to continue acting for years to come.
Though he may be entering his third season of the powerhouse comedy, at home Daniel is a typical 15-year-old boy and keeps a high interest in his favorite sports teams while maintaining straight A’s. He also recently completed his first LA Marathon, and with the acting world at his feet, nothing can slow this young star down.

Pete Mills Interview

AFTERBUZZ TV – AfterBuzz TV’s Mini Spotlight edition, is a short form interview series featuring actors & artists discussing their roles and shows as well as their thoughts, passions and journeys. In this episode host Timothy Michael interviews Pete Mills.

Pete Mills is the lead singer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and founder of The Sweet Kill. Driven by dark wave synths, masculine punk attitude, minimal urban beats and a neo-emo message, The Sweet Kill refracts the struggle of addiction in a beautifully unsettling fashion.

The Sweet Kill tested its repertoire over seas in festivals and clubs throughout England and Russia. Returning to Los Angeles, Pete assembled a team to record the material including co-producer Voli (Bebe Rexha, J Cole), engineer/mixer Dave “Rave” Ogilvie (Marilyn Manson, NIN), drummer Darren King (Mute Math, Kanye West) and mastering by Dave Kutch (The Weeknd, Jay-Z), as well as songwriters Thomas Anselmi (Dave Gahan, Slow) and Rome Da Luce. The debut single “Die In Your Eyes” is a melodic black-hearted dirge clawing away at the strings of the soul.

Before The Sweet Kill, Pete was a member of the infamous Canadian Glam band, Flash Bastard who went from rags to riches signing with Nikki Sixx’s label. Gaining notoriety by getting thrown off the Motley Crue tour mid way through, Pete ran the music industry’s gauntlet within the major record label Vortex. Eventually moving to Los Angeles, Pete joined Soulkid1 signed to DreamWorks/Universal. Pete co–produced the hit song “We Got More Bounce In California” with Michael Patterson (Trent Reznor, She Wants Revenge). This got the attention of the local labels and Pete transitioned to the recording studio producing music for a myriad of artists including Sheryl Crow, Moving Units, Teddy Riley, Bobby Brown and Russia’s Mumiy Troll. However, The Sweet Kill currently codifies Pete’s creative muse giving him solace in a divided country as the volatile Hollywood climate escalates.
