Show summary: American Ninja Warrior is a sports entertainment competition spin-off of the Japanese television series Sasuke, in which competitors try to complete a series of obstacle courses of increasing difficulty called “stages”. The series began on December 12, 2009, in Los Angeles, with the top 10 competitors moving on to compete at “Mount Midoriyama” in Japan. Beginning with season 4, competitors travel to the Las Vegas strip to compete on a nearly identical “Mount Midoriyama” course.

This heart-pounding competition series returns for its sixth season — the first to air exclusively on NBC — in search of the next person to earn the title American Ninja Warrior and the $500,000 prize that comes with it. Each hourlong qualifying episode takes place in a different city — Los Angeles, Dallas, St. Louis, Miami and Denver — and features contestants attempting to overcome an obstacle course and qualify for the national finals in Las Vegas. Those who make it to Sin City face a four-stage course modeled after Japan’s famed “Mount Midoriyama” to determine the season’s ultimate winner. Matt Iseman, Akbar Gbaja-Biamila and Jenn Brown return as hosts.
