Keo Motsepe, Dancing With the Star’s professional dancer, led his first-ever. Thank the Angels gift bag drive for LA’s homeless on Skid Row along with many of his celebrity friends!
The idea behind Thank the Angels came from a time when Keo realized there is so much more that all of us can do to help for those in need, “It was Thanksgiving and I bought food and drove around trying to find someone to give it to and then
behind a major department store I saw a woman with a small child in the car parked sitting against the wall. I went over and offered her the food and she just started crying— that’s a feeling you never forget. At that moment, I just knew I wanted to do more.” Keo also strongly feels that we can all reduce in our daily lives. For example, when talking with Keo he mentioned that it begins with the little things. “I would go to the grocery store and spend $200 on groceries. Come
home and only eat several things and see some of the stuff I purchased just sit there for days. Then you think about the people who would actually appreciate that food. So now I buy EXACTLY what I need and nothing more because the
money I spent but didn’t use could have gone to providing food to those who really need it.”
The day before Thanksgiving Keo along with celebrity friends such as Pretty Little Liar’s Sasha Pieterse, Dancing With the Star’s professional dancer Makism Chmerkovskiy and Artem Chigvintsev, recording artist Vaja, ballroom dancer and entrepreneur Camilla Dallerup, and model/actress Sarah Lea prepared over 200 gift bags at the national entertainment venue and bowling alley, Lucky Strike Live in Hollywood.
Each bag was filled with many great items such as 200 bottles of water and tote bags thanks to Audi Beverly Hills, OSO premium beverages, the new all-natural energy drink Glow, toothpaste, scarves, clothes, and many more useful items filled each bag!
On Thanksgiving day, Keo, began his drop-offs on Skid Row for the homeless with all the bags thanks to transportation provided by Enterprise car rental. Smiles were seen on every face receiving a bag, especially on Keo himself! The first annual Thank the Angels was a massive success, thanks to all those involved!
