AfterBuzz TV, the ESPN of TV Talk, is wading into the political news world with the launch of a new series The Political Beat.
AfterBuzz TV’s Chief Political Analysts and Co-Hosts of the former Political Culture, Drexel Heard II and Chelsea Galicia, will bring the new weekly political show for millennials to AfterBuzz TV bridging moderate and progressive perspectives.
Following a successful test run, the new show has grown over the months with panel discussions, special guests, and news from the 2016 election and headlines from Washington and around the country. The Political Beat will feature more prominent guests, in-depth policy discussions, 2018 races across the country, and more. In addition to the new show, Brooke Taylor Solis joins the team, hosting a new headline news roundup The Buzz on AfterBuzz TV social media platforms, Fridays starting September 12th.
“The move to create a more refocused political show on AfterBuzz TV was something we talked about for a few months after the 2016 election, and the timing made sense as the network continues to grow,” — Drexel Heard
The new show is also teaming up with the Democratic recruiting organization, Run For Something (www.runforsomething.net), to interview, highlight, and get out the message for millennial candidates across the country.
“More than 11,000 millennials across the country have signed up with us to run for local office — we’re excited for AfterBuzz TV to highlight some of their stories, bring attention to their important campaigns, and inspire other young people to run for office themselves. If the day-to-day news bums you out, don’t worry: these candidates will make you feel good about the future.” — Amanda Litman, co-founder of Run for Something
The first episode on Tuesday, September 5th, featured an interview with California Democratic Party Chairman Eric Bauman, and a discussion on DACA with immigration Attorney Belen Gomez.
Created by Emmy winner Maria Menounos & producer Keven Undergaro, AfterBuzz TV is the digital broadcast network dedicated to producing live and on-demand after-shows, news and coverage for nearly every TV show featuring expert recaps & interviews with cast & crew.
All shows stream live on www.afterbuzztv.com, YouTube, and can be heard on Apple podcast. ###
