Spider-Man Homecoming Writers on Board for the Sequel
After the critical failure of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014, Sony was in need of a reboot that would reestablish the franchise for years to come. Spider-Man Homecoming did just that, earning a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, and over $700 million at the box office.
Sony and Marvel Studios will continue with the same formula, as it is confirmed that writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers are negotiating to return for the second Spider-Man film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
One of the greatest aspects of Spider-Man Homecoming is the well written humor, which can be traced back to the collaboration between McKenna and Sommers.
The comedy duo has worked on notable sit coms such as The Mindy Project, American Dad, and Community.
The Spider-Man sequel is set to be released on July 5, 2019.
