NBC is continuing to make early renewals with some of its new series. This time, ‘The Good Place’ has been renewed for a second season before the season finale has even arrived.
This news on Mike Schur’s comedy follows the lead of NBC drama ‘This Is Us,’ which received a rare renewal for not one, but two additional seasons earlier this month.
“Mike Schur has always had one of the most fertile and imaginative minds in comedy, but what he brought us with the first season of ‘The Good Place’ was just extraordinary,” NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke said, according to Variety. “We absolutely can’t wait to see where these characters go, literally, in season two. A big thank you to Mike, the writers and cast for delivering a series in which we all take such enormous pride.”
‘The Good Place’ stars Kristen Bell, Ted Danson, Jameela Jamil, William Jackson Harper, D’Arcy Carden, and Manny Jacinto, and is slated to have 13 episodes next season.
